"Money makes the world go 'round." - John Kander.
"A rich man is nothing but a poor man with money." - W.C. Fields.
"In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women." - Tony Montana.
The three famous quotes above are true and accurate as can be, although one of them is from a fictional character, the fact is, it's 1000% true. Without money, our world and society as a people would cease to exist. To an extent, money is akin to the most dangerous drugs out there on the streets. When an individual is clutching a stack of dead presidents in their hands, the world seems to brighten up, and all seems well. Take away or try to live without that green-dyed paper, and everything in life becomes utterly miserable. There are some people out there who chase that high; when down-and-out, the only thing that makes them happy is heading out to the mall and purchasing something, whether cheap or expensive. But, that high lasts for a few moments, then it's gone. Instant gratification is not always the best choice.

However, it gets much heavier and intense when you delve into the deeper side of the currency pool. There are those who lust for one of the seven deadliest sins that seems to play a pivotal role in government, greed. Greed is a sin of excess, a sin of lusting for more than you physically or mentally need. If you were to take a peek behind the iron curtain, you'd see first hand that it's not the President of the United States who's actually running the show. No, the real man men running the marionette show are the bankers. The colossal conglomerates / corporations, the oil businessmen, bankers who don't even reside in the U.S.; they all have their hands in our pockets. It's been this way for decades, centuries even. Hawai'i is no different. I'm sure many of you have heard of the Big Five. These were the five corporations that set up shop in our islands, which in turn blindly helped to deteriorate all that we ever had; from our customs, to culture, way-of-living and the agriculture that helped sustain viable life here in Hawai'i.
These five corporations are: Castle & Cooke, Alexander & Baldwin, C. Brewer & Co., Amfac and Theo H. Davies & Co. I'm sure for those who've never heard of the Big Five will easily recognize these big names. The Big Five exercised a vigorous part in political power and control. They brought with them right-wing politics, and strong-armed local businesses. Agricultural land was eventually lost to the hands of the Big Five, and ultimately, we were left in the dust as an omnipotent nation, ruled under an iron-first, their only moral imperative, to garner more power and money.
The product: The first piece of collaboration between us and Black Scale is our Greed cap. The entire cap is covered in black (including the under brim) with the word "Greed" in red letter stitching on the front and a red Fitted crest on the backside, with Black Scale in black resting beneath the crest. The inside's features see a red and white satin lining with our trilock pattern and red sweatband. The next t-shirt (printed on white) features a dark graphic of the heads of the Big Five with red crosses over their eyes and the names of the Seven Deadly Sins (Pride, Envy, Lust, Gluttony, Anger, Greed and Sloth). Fits perfectly with Black Scale's dark, stark themes as well as the Greed aspect of this entire pack. Lastly, we have two versions of a special Fitted x Black Scale shirt with trilocks covering the front side. The red version is a Black Scale release only. The white version will be released in our shop the same day. Merry Christmas and thank you for your continued support! Mahalo nui loa.
