I'm sure you all are sick and tired of me writing about how much I enjoy the Big Island blog after blog but what can I say... "you like what you like". Right. This trip here took place during the Super Bowl Weekend. I know it's unbelievable that I would give up sitting in front of the TV eating 7 layer bean dip for 6 hours to go sleep in a tent on the beach without the luxury of modern plumbing for 2 days. Even more unbelievable is that I would require my 5 year old daughter to accompany me. Luckily for Capri and I, Mr. Kema knows we enjoy nothing more than lounging lagoon side especially when that lagoon happens to be one in Milolii. I have to admit though the monsoon that was clobbering Oahu on the morning of our departure had me wondering if it was a good idea to fly out on such short notice. Just as I was about to pull the cord on the mission Kema sent a picture via text to my flip phone(yes my flip phone can receive pictures). All doubts were quelled by the image of a cloudless blue sky as he was on his way over from Hilo. Game on. We arrived at the venerable Uncle Sam's compound a few hours later with cooler full of cuzzo lights and a army surplus duffle bag full of all that is needed to be content in such a paradise. As always many mahalos to the Kema/Grace ohana for keeping the aloha spirit alive and well. - RM
