OLD SOLE, NEW TRICKS: XVIII
Although it's been a busy week, it has also been fun! I'm starting to genuinely enjoy hunting for sneakers again as I'm finding more and more underrated releases these days. Missed a few really good drops recently, but I'm sure I'll come across them sometime in the future... On the other side of things, I was able to score a few "sweaters" (as I like to refer to them as, due to the fact that I'll be 'sweatin' until I secure a pair... haha), such as the Nike Air Max 90 Beams collaboration, Nike Air Max 90 Camo Infrared Atmos Exclusive, and hopefully the Supreme Flyknit Trainers thanks to my big brother out in Japan! The rest of this week is looking pretty busy on the sneaker side as well with a lot of good drops I'll be looking to purchase! Next on the list: Asics Gel Lyte V OG Holiday releases, Cncpts New Balances, custom New Balance 576 here I come!
Extra Butter x Asics Gel Saga "Cottonmouth"
Deadly. These are set to be the first of five Extra Butter collaborations, appropriately named "Death List 5." Asics are starting to climb toward the top of my list...
Liberty x Vans Holiday 13 Releases
Five very different patterns, five very different colors... Who remembers Liberty House?!
Nike SB Stefan Janoski Max "Bright Crimson"
I've never been a fan of Janoski's, but these are looking good... Jacquard upper is always interesting. It's crazy how Nike Skateboarding sneakers are taking a turn towards more of a "runner" look.
Air Jordan V "Bel-Air"
Shoulda, woulda, coulda done a better tribute to Fresh Prince, right?! These are cool in regards to detail and color, but I've seen a few handfuls of Fresh Prince inspired custom sneakers throughout my lifetime... These are definitely not memorable among them...
Nike Air Max Glow Collection
More glow... Yippee... -_- At least they're trying something a little different with these, I guess...
Nike WMNS Air Max 1
Mint seems to be quite the color this year... Nice one for the ladies.
Poler x Nike ACG Trainerendor
I've always admired Poler's outdoor wear and products. Not that I'd jump at this shoe, but I think they're really different (in a good way) and I admire stuff like this... The look is actually pretty fashionable for an outdoorsman.
Nike Air Max 90 SneakerBoot
What do you get when you mix an Air Max 90, Solarsoft Moccasin, and Hyperfuse??? ...I don't like the colors, but the silhouette looks cool.
Reebok Kamikaze II "Glow"
Annnnnnd... Here go Reebok. -_-
Puma Suede "93 Pack"
I don't care for the colors and pattern much, but glad to see the Suedes still around... I had a great love for Puma once...
Concepts x New Balance 998 "Mint"
Once again, these are getting posted here... I will be forever indebted to anyone who scores me a size 9. Truth.
Jean-Michel Basquiat x Reebok Classics
Basquiat is a genius... So is Reebok for working with him...
Distinct Life x Reebok Classics Playing Cards
This is a first (from what Iʻve seen)... Cool.

How many years I've been in an affair with sneakers:
My sneaker love started in 1990 when I first started playing in basketball leagues. I believe my first pair were the Air Jordan V's. The sneakers you rocked when playing Ball was a statement. You could be wack with no skills, but if you had the dopest kicks on the court you were accepted. Haha, well most of the time... Depends how wack you were and how dope your sneakers were.
How many pairs I own:
I haven't counted my collection in a minute, but its somewhere around 90 to 100 pairs. It was a lot deeper but I cut it down to the ones I wear and cherish most.
Amazing sneaker-related story:
I was in Nike town Las Vegas when I was in elementary school looking around for the Air Up-Tempos(Scottie Pippens). My mom didn't want me to get them because of the price tag... I tried them on anyway lol. There was two tall guys sitting on the bench next to me but I didn't think anything of it, I was too worried about getting the Up-Tempos on my feet. I overheard them asking the Nike town employee if they had a certain shoe by name but the employee didn't know. I jumped in the conversation and pointed them out on the shelf for the employee. The two guys looked at me amazed and asked how old I was. As I began to tell them my age I then realized that they were NBA players. Jamal Mashburn and PJ Brown!!! I was hella trippin... They were very surprised of my sneaker knowledge and only in elementary school. They offered to buy my Air Up-Tempos for me!!! I ended up with free kicks, autographs and a crazy story I'll never forget. My mom was happy that she didn't have to spend money too...
Holy Grail and why:
Despite the ridiculous hype on them nowadays, my holy grails will always be the Air Jordan 11. I had a pair of Bred 11's when they were first released. I believe I was in 6th grade. I had other Jordans before but these were the flyest to me. They were fly on the court and slick enough to wear to church. Plus, these shoes will have you feeling like a boss with em on! Regardless the color, Ill take these over anything...
Most despised footwear and why:
Any sneaker brand that bites the style and designs of other sneakers...
If I had to choose ONE pair to wear for the rest of my life, it would be:
Air Jordan 11 Concords... You can wear them with anything on any occasion.
Currently hunting for:
Aloha Dunks, Kobe 4 Carpe Diems, Air Jordan 7 Bins 23...
Changes or surprises I'm hoping for in the sneaker world:
All this non-sense about the hype. We all love sneakers and collect them for individual purposes. Just remember that and stay by it... The sneaker craze that pulls in the average joes comes and goes. Keep collecting for the reason you do it #respect
Additional comments, shout-outs, big ups:
Big ups and s/o to all the OGs in the game and forums that give us a platform here in our home state... HSH, HSS, and all the indie sneaker spots in the state

A question for Parkz (by Jordan Salud): Who got more sneaker heat, you or your girl?
Oh man... haha! My lady is bound to read this so I better answer lightly... lol jk! Shorty got mad heat, no joke, but we each try to keep our collections top notch according to our individual needs and likings. 'Heat' is a hard word to describe because in the end, it comes down to individual opinion. One of the many things I appreciate about my lady and her relationship with her sneakers is that she never lets hype or monetary value affect how she feels about any specific pair... You could have a pair of the most rare and expensive sneakers in the world, but if she personally thinks they're ugly, you'll be sure to hear it straight outta her mouth with no lack of harshness. Ol girl stays very true to herself and I'm proud of her for that. She also appreciates and treats her more underrated (in her mind) sneakers just the same as her more (generally) hyped sneakers. True sneaker love...
